Put the Spring Back in Your Step
Not yet published
Seasonal changes can affect how we feel. With the arrival of spring it’s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with ourselves. We thought we would share some of the things we do to put a “spring” back in our step:
Get active and enjoy nature: With the weather becoming warmer and the days becoming longer, why not go cycling, go for a run, join an outdoor activity group, or just go for walk a be at one with nature….and if you’re feeling adventurous….one of us is doing a parachute jump soon!
Learn something new: Challenging ourselves to learn something new can give us a sense of achievement. This can boost our confidence and perhaps even bring about new opportunities.
Give: Studies show that helping others – whether it’s a small gesture such as a kind word or bigger one like donating our time or money, can have a positive impact on mental well-being. This can give us a sense of satisfaction and purpose. Some studies even suggest that it can have physiological benefits such as helping to reduce chronic pain and blood pressure.
Be mindful: Try to live in the now rather than worrying about what has happened in the past or what can happen in the future. Being more aware of our present moment, whether it’s our thoughts or our bodies, can help us understand ourselves better and make the changes we need to lead us to feel more fulfilled and happier.
Eat right: We all know we should be doing this, but giving into temptation is just too easy. However, we are firm believers that if we really think about what we’re eating, for example, where it’s come from, how it’s produced, the impact it has on our bodies and the impact it has on the planet, we may indulge less and appreciate the occasional treat more.
